Byron's Capture: Chapter One - Quest 2 Guide

Byron's Capture: Chapter One - Quest 2 Guide

Safe egg, happy egg, little egg of doom..wait..no jk!
Welcome to Byron's Capture: Chapter One - Quest 2 Guide. We are continuing from the Byron's Capture: Chapter One - Quest 1 Guide I wrote earlier. If you are a player at Level 19 or higher these quests will become available to you.

In this particular chapter you will need to have access to Leif, whom is a Hero that unlocks at Level 37. However, Leif will become a Temporary Hero for lower levels once you complete the quest “Magnus’ Summoning Breakthrough”.

Speaking of which - let's get that part over with for those that need Leif.

Magnus’ Summoning Breakthrough
Lucky 6 crowns for not being a high level! Sob Sobs, sobs I want those....
Not all players have access to Leif, but if you do; then don't worry about this quest. It won't show up for you if he is already freed from his crystal prison. As for new or lower level players, thanks to Magnus magick, we can temporarily release Heroes from their crystal prisons.

Note that this will be a temporary effect. Once you reach the appropriate level you'll be able to release the Hero from their prison for good.

What you'll need is to make a Fel Torch. This requires 3 Wooden torches and 5 Fel leaves. A total time of 30 minutes for the torch to craft. Also, the Fel leaves come from harvesting the Mint field.

Once you have Leif available to you then you'll be able to proceed with the rest of the quest.

Overall Objectives:
All I see are Golden Lock rewards..yippee!
Leif wants a chance to investigate Byron's claim that his kingdom is doomed. Apparently the Prince has an artifact that is worth checking out. We will need to craft shields, investigate the Rune Blade artifact, as well as gathering Black Feathered Arrows.

The Runed Blade Artifact
Featured Market Tab
You'll find the Runed Blade in the Featured Market Tab for 100 gold. Drag it onto an empty spot on your kingdom to begin researching it.
Lots of hammers, lots and lots
In order to investigate the Runed Blade twice we will need two Archaelogy Kits. You should already have one from the previous quest. Which means we'll have to craft the rest at the Jeweler. We'll get to that in a bit but go ahead and start crafting Four Lava Hammers at the Gadget Shoppe.

Black Feathered Arrows
Dragon's Clutch...again.
While our Lava Hammers are being created at the Gadget Shoppe lets go ahead and send a Hero off to the Dragon's Clutch to find the two Black Feathered Arrows. All Heroes will have the same drop rate for the arrows. Which is about 53% and a pretty low chance to drop. You'll need two ladders and a tent for materials to explore. If you have Fast Foot spells - this is a great place to use them.
Bluebelle brings lemons, silver wire and extra luck here.
The reason why I chose Bluebelle was for the chance at some extra luck. What this means is that there is a small boost to items dropping. A very small one but it worked in this case. The second time I put her through an exploration the luck didn't work out. It's as always a random chance to get what you need at these places.

Archaeology Kits
Back at the Gadget Shoppe
Hopefully you have those Lava Hammers crafting already. We will need a total of four to fulfill the requirements for this quest. However, keep crafting more Lava Hammers. At Quest 4 - we will need to investigate the Runed Blade 3 more times. In total you will need 12 Lava Hammers. The Brass Ingots you gain from harvesting Giovanni's house.
The place of crafting all sorts of things
Speaking of Giovanni's house - this is also where you will get the Archaeology Picks. When you harvest Gio's house for the Brass Ingot it has a chance of dropping the pick. No worries about a bad drop rate here. The Archaeology picks will drop each time.

Wooden Shields

Last but not least is to craft the four Wooden Shields. You'll need 10 logs for each shield. A total of 40 logs for all the shields. Craft these at the Woodshop.  Each shield will take 2 hours to craft one.

Quest Complete:
Many years ago Leif was exploring the lair of the Dark Alchemist. Hmmm.....
Once all the quest requirements have been met you'll be rewarded with 3 shiny Golden vault padlocks! A CastleVille Legends player can never have enough vault space. I think the highest the vault can go is about 950 storage space.

Until the next guide - happy playing!
