The River Maid Event: Phase One

Greetings Monarchs,

Zynga kicks off June with a special quest: The River Maid Event. This walk-through guides you from start to finish of Phase One. As I complete the other two phases of the questline I will put up the corresponding tutorials as well. If you prefer a TD:LR version of the River Maid Event Phase One guide simply scroll to the bottom for max counts for all that you will need to gather.

This guide will be picture-heavy just a heads up. Let's begin!

==============================
Phase One:  Part One - Anchors Aweigh
==============================

Captain Pym of the Seatrade Ship
 If you are level 14 or above and have recently updated your game the above popup will appear. Click on the button to continue.
New temporary hero, yay!
Begin by grabbing Captain Pym from the Heroes tab. At the moment it doesn't show but a new purchasable hero by the name of Wavedancer will be available for 350 crowns.

Pym's home is an anchor. Fitting style, captain.
Why hello there, Captain!
Place Captain Pym anywhere on your land. An anchor will appear to mark as Pym's new home. Once placed the introduction dialogue appears. Captain Pym is none other then the Captain of our trading ship. Well, who would have thought? (*Shakes fist*) Now we know who to blame for all the storm at sea errors.

Pym at home...so who is currently navigating my trade ship?
A man in love with a fish...he needs help. Mental help.
Once Captain Pym's been placed on your land the first part of Phase One is complete. Collect your 40 XP and let's continue. On a side note? The quest experience is rather tiny through-out the entire questline.

Well no wonder our ships crash for no reason. He's too busy looking for love; he doesn't steer well.
==============================
Phase One: Part Two - Getting Wrecked
==============================

So many references to ship wrecks...
Now that we have the easy part accomplished it's time to begin the real quest. A new exclaimation point should appear on your quest log. If not, click on Magnus' hut to bring up the quest log to find the above pictured quest. Click to start!

The gathering commences
Captain Pym wants to acquire Lightfoot berries but first he needs gloves to be able to pick them. Here, he introduces the main ingredients needed to craft Berry-picking gloves. We will need Wool x4, Forest Charms x2 to make one pair of gloves.

Pym likes to swagger like the rest of 'em
Fast and nearly guaranteed chance for Forest Charms
Tip: Send out Indigo, the mountain dragon, to the Ancient Watchtower. Of all the heroes, he has the best chance to collect Forest charms at that particular place. You can also send out Captain Pym various times in order to get a leg up on collect lightfoot berries.

The side effects of those berries are unknown.
Once you have made your first pair of gloves the third part of Phase One will be completed.

=================================
Phase One: Part Three - Legs for a Mermaid
=================================

Note: Zynga recently hotfixed the quest to make it easier. Players no longer have to visit the Well of Wishes for this part of the quest.

Gathering mission commences
The next leg of our journey is the introduction of how to craft Lightfoot Oatmeal. This one is a bit of time consumer. It takes 2 creamy oatmeals and 1 Lightfoot berry to make one Lightfoot Oatmeal. Apart from that, Captain Pym wants us to send him to the Well of Wishes. He's certainly not asking for too much...

Good duo if you want best chance for more Forest Charms
No golden lock for me this day. :<
Note: Zynga recently hotfixed the quest to make it easier. Players no longer have to visit the Well of Wishes for this part of the quest.

Tip: I sent Tanya along with Captain Pym as I was still collecting Forest Charms. Although Indigo was great for the Ancient Watchtower that special luck didn't apply to the Well of Wishes.

Poor Ula, she's being experimented on.
Apparently the Lightfoot Oatmeal wasn't enough to change Ula's tail into Human legs.

=====================================
Phase One: Part Four - Legs for a Mermaid cont.
=====================================

Milk, milk, and more milk
Captain Pym wants us to collect more berries and combine them with a whole lot of milk. In this part of the questline we are introduced to Lightfoot Cheese.

I wonder if Lightberries are actually cranberries
Ula adores cheese but it's not enough to transform her. If this constant feeding keeps up that poor mermaid is going to need to go on a diet.

All that remains to claim that 8000 gold.
We are at the final leg of Phase One for the River Maid Event. It took a small bit of doing but all that remains is to complete what we have already started.

Poor Captain Pym looks so dejected
Congrats, Phase One is complete!
Although we couldn't turn Ula's fishy tail into Human legs she tries to cheer us up by giving us 8000 gold coins. What a nice mermaid.
