Walk-through: Rafael's Courtship Event - Stage 1

Greetings Royals,

a few days ago I gave a heads up about an upcoming event. Sneek Peak: Moonwhisker, a cat hero introduces a new quest event(timed) as we help Rafael court Yvette. The basis of the event is very similar to the Easter event where we will be completing weekly orders using random ingredients, and collecting an "x" amount of animals to win a hero. In this case, the winged cat hero, Moonwhisker.

Moonwhisker is a baby mew hero!
Guided Walk-through

Welcome to Rafael's Courtship Event walk-through. This particular event is split up into three different parts that will unlock over time. The quest(pictured below) will open up at Level 13.

Introduction to Rafael's Courtship event
Rafael's logic as always is simpeccable
While players are completing the Courtship event a series of sub-quests will appear that guide us through completing this new feature. The quest is called, Lady Fair  Week 1, 2, and 3.

What is it with cats and getting stuck in trees...
It just so happens that we will get to that particular part of the Lady Fair sub-quests in a few moments. Our first task is to place the Cat Tree in our kingdom.

New decorations are available
Go to the 'Decoration' tab(It looks like a flower) in the Market. We have new decorations to buy with both gold and crowns. The Bastet(The one titled 'best statue') costs 10 crowns but it is a beautiful piece to add to your kingdom. The fountain is just gorgeous. Unfortunately, there is a limit of one item per kingdom.

Next, grab the Cat Tree and drag it onto a free spot in your kingdom.

Glowing kitty eyes aren't scary at all!
Once the Cat Tree is on your kingdom we can begin the cat rescues!

My Lady Fair - Week 1

Rafael is really a naive romantic isn't he?
Getting Yvette to notice Rafael will be tough. His manly chest hair doesn't quite pass off as cat or dog fur now does it? Looks like we have our work as match-makers cut out for us.

Catnip task ftw
In order to lure cats out of the tree we need to round up batches of catnip. I'm not entirely sure how the egg bread fits as a suitable cat treat but we'll see...

Bro buddy poewr activate!
Tip: Since we're going to the Gateway of Luck I decided to bring along Leif for that extra ice cube. The Fast-Foot spells come in handy here. Don't forget to send off to your friends and Alliance members to help with the wait time.

Note: In the Market tab you can purchase Sunclaw, an orange cat hero that will help increase your chances of finding cat nip.
Crafty Rafael...real crafty
Once you've found your first catnip the truth is revealed about the bread. The egg bread was for Rafael(the jerk).
Not bad thinking there with the yarn bit.
Now that we've acquired our catnip we need our next piece of bait; a ball of yarn.

A speed intro to what we are about to complete.
Ingredients for Week 1
Here now we have the Ingredients Work Orders. These will change every week to something different. For the moment we are collecting yarn balls (Qty: 4), cat nip (Qty: 3), and egg bread(Qty: 3) for our first week of order.
Make your ball of yarn at the tailor
I'm sure you recall what Egg bread requires(oats, eggs, and butter) and we now know that catnip can be found at Places of Legend such as the Gateway of Luck. The ball of yarn requires 4 wool and 3 blueberries to create.
The Cat Tree
Once you've collected your first set of Ingredient work orders then you can search the Cat Tree. It's a pretty cute animation be prepared to smile once you see it wiggle about.

Random prize options
It's not guaranteed that you'll get the cats right off the bat. Sometimes you'll get a miss and receive random treasure alike the picture above.

Orange tabby jackpot!
If you found a kitty then it will appear as above pictured. Remember, we are helping Rafael find the stray cats to give to Yvette. She'll find them good homes but apparently not at our kingdoms. So each cat we find is one we will not keep. However, if we find all six cats then Moonwhisker is ours!

Yvette is happy, score!
One of the things that confuses me is why Yvette thought Rafael was nothing more than a run of the mill guy. He's a Woods man AKa a Ranger alike Aragorn from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. One of the Ranger's special abilities is being able to have an empathic bond with woodland creatures. Maybe now she'll pay him a bit more attention. ^.^

Oh he's empowered now...
Noticing that Yvette has taken a liking to his cat rescue operation the manly Rafael decides to do even more feline rescues to win her heart. We are of course being dragged along for the ride. Now we are tasked with finding 3 more catnip, picking 6 blueberries, and a brown tabby cat.

Tip: Keep sending Rafael to the Gateway of Luck for the catnip. Remember to use Fast-foot spells to help speeds things up.

Author note: TBC - it seems I've found almost all of the cats except the single one that I need to complete quest. Either I'm extremely lucky( no crowns used at all) or the RNG for finding the cats is a bit too high.

Yvette is one happy Cat lady
Once all the cats have been found you are awarded with Moonwhisker!

Isn't he the cutest?
A reliable hero cat
Moonwhisker's specialty is finding opals at certain Places of Legend. Pair him up with Raphael for an almost guaranteed catnip finding spree. It'll come in handy for the next phase of the quest-line.

Thanks for reading

  1. so I got the final cat............ and i've been spending all of my time getting the ingredients to shake the tree.... i've been shaking the tree 3-5 times a day for over a week now and apparently the 250 crown weekly bonus is unreachable........ I have one hour and two tries left before this ends............ the game is becoming quite frustrating...and that means it's time to move on............

    1. I shook the tree well over 50 times the 4th week and did not get the bonus. The chance on it must have been crazy low!!

    2. I'm really glad you got the final cat, Hungry Nook. Moonwhisker is a nice hero to add to the collection. Hopefully the game won't be too frustrating for much longer. The Zynga team is working hard to mend their past errors in the pursuit of giving us a fun experience.

Brian, I agree that the 250 crowns prize was at a very low rate. So low that even Zynga admits their mistake. We can only hope that the next event will have better rates for our prizes!
