Magnus VS Giovanni: Chapter 3: Quests 1-3

Greetings Royals!

We're now into Magnus' portion of the event. Zynga has bestowed upon us a brief time extension to be able to complete the quest and it's bonus objectives. We'll take what we can get. In our last portion we were tasked with building a telescope for Giovanni. In this segment we will begin collecting reagents to cast an epic spell!

*sings* Let's get down to business!

Things of note:

• We are working toward earning 5 Trail Kitchen boost

• Players must be Level 17 and have both Giovanni & Magnus unlocked.

• Some of the crafted event items will not show up in your vault. Instead they are placed in a invisible storage place and won't add to our vault space. 

• Make sure that if you are hunting a particular event item that you have the corresponding quest active. If you've already completed a quest then press 'repeat' on that quest to re-activate it

• This is a time limited quest. Recently we had an extension therefore we have until February 4th 2015 to complete the event. 

• The quest is broken up into various chapters that unlock over time. There is a countdown timer on the progress bar to see how much time is remaining to complete all of the quests. Unfortunately, if you do not complete all of the quests before the time runs out, you will not earn the 5 boosts for the kitchen.

Overall Objectives for Magnus' segment

For the most part our Magnus is humbled but not for long. He plans on creating an epic spell that would even impress Giovanni's technical mindset. Will he fail or succeed? It's up to us to decide! Please note that the only things we will need to keep from Giovanni's portion is the adamant ore to fuel the Galvorn forges.

Chapter III: Quest 1 - Magical Masterplan I of VI

I wouldn't say it was a simple telescope. For cripes sake it's stuck together with edible glue!

We now have our objectives at hand to complete. We are going to collect Galvorn, craft Forest Charm necklaces, and send off Magnus to the Ancient Watchtower. For now, it's pretty simple!

One for gold and one for crowns

Galvorn forges can be bought in the Market. There are two for sale - one for gold and the other for crowns. Alike the Adamant mines that we bought previously the differences between the two are very small. The Superior Galvorn forge gives 3 Galvorn within 1hr 29mins and the normal Galvorn forge gives 2 within 1hr 59ms. You will need adamant from the Adamant mines to fuel the Galvorn forge.

Good old Forest Charms and Midas Gloves

Next we will be crafting 3 Forest Charm Necklaces at the Jeweler.

You will need:

• 1 Forest Charm
• 1 Midas Glove
• 30 minutes crafting time for one necklace

In total:

• 3 Forest Charms
• 3 Midas Gloves
• 1 hour and 30 minutes for three necklaces

Helpful Tip 1: To get Forest Charms send your best heroes to the Ancient Watchtower.
Best Heroes for Forest Charm: Indigo +60%, Yvette +40%, Rafael + 20%, Greenleaf + 20%,

Helpful Tip 2: To get Midas Gloves send your best heroes to the Gateway of Luck.
Best Heroes for Midas Glove: Yvette + 20%, Indigo + 20%, Rill, Greenleaf+15%,

Finally, send off Magnus to the Ancient Watchtower. You'll need one torch to send him exploring.

Once all our tasks are completed then we'll be awarded with 1700 XP and a silly caption of a very smug Giovanni taunting Magnus. Off to the next quest!

Chapter III: Quest 2 - Magical Masterplan II of VI

Have to wonder whom Magnus is going to cast this spell on?

The next step in Magnus' portion is to craft a Bag of Stardust, gather Spell scrolls, and then send him off to Mount Cinder. It doesn't have to necessarily be in that order of course.

Why yes, I do like to hoard stardust! 

Next is to craft the Bag of Stardust. (Btw: in Ch.4 of Magnus quest you will need another Bag of Stardust. Start collecting the extra parts to create a second Bag of Stardust now.)

You will need a tailor to craft the Bag of Stardust:

• 1 Stardust
• 1 Opal Button Pouch
• 4 Galvorn
• 1 hour crafted time for a Bag of Stardust

Helpful Tip 1: If you can't find any stardust on global market, Alliance isn't any help for some reason or not in one, nor have last year's Easter jackalope that drops a single stardust; than we have to hunt it down ourselves. Visit either Fairy Falls(if you have Tanya) or Well of Wishes.

Helpful Tip 2: Opals can be gotten from Yvette's house or if you have Moonwhisker then send him off to the Ancient Watchtower for a guaranteed opal.

Helpful Tip 3: As I metioned earlier the one item we will need for Magnus' portion of quests is the Adamant ore from the Adamant mine that became available during Giovanni's questline. You'll need Rafael's axes to fuel the Adamant mine and then the ore to fuel the Galvorn forge.

Rafael's house has many uses apparently....

Next we collect the 3 Clairvoyance Spell Scrolls from Rafael's house. Use the extra axes to fuel the Galvorn mine or for sending off Tanya to Fairy Falls for extra stardust. The timer on the axes is fast enough that you shouldn't need to waste your quick spells on it. The drop rate is about 75%  for the scrolls  so you'll have those three spell scrolls in no time.

Mystic orbs are suppose to drop more often. I've yet to see it.

At last we send off Magnus to Mount Cinder for no reason at all. I'm going to imagine he went off to find Giovanni who often gets sent there to find those elusive mystic orbs.

What goblins? We've never seen any enemies!

Once our tasks are completed we are rewarded with 1800 XP.

Chapter III: Quest 3 - Magical Masterplan III of VI

Who knew crystal balls had such a wide range?

Up next is our set of tasks to complete. We are going to craft a base for Magnus' crystal ball, send our wizard off on a random adventure to the Well of Wishes and gather several beard combs. Magnus must have one epic beard...

Random exploration a-go go!

Send off Magnus with another hero the Well of Wishes. If you don't have Fast Foot spells on hand it'll be quite a while - 8 hours - before he returns. Luckily, we have plenty to do in the meanwhile.

Not asking for too much are we Zynga? 

Crafting the Crystal Base you will need a Jeweler: 

• 4 Galvorn
• 3 Unenchanted Orbs
• 2 Clairvoyance Spell Scrolls

Total Crafting Time is 6 Hours

Helpful Tip 1: The Galvorn come from the Galvorn Forges which are fueled by Adamant Ore. Use Rafael's axes to extract the Adamant Ore for your Galvorn Forges. At the same time, you'll be getting Unenchanted Orbs from the Galvorn Forge. Make use of your Quick spells here.

Helpful Tip 2: The Clairvoyance Spell Scrolls come from Rafael's house. Hopefully as you pick up his axes you'll also get the Spell Scrolls to drop as well. Don't use Quick spells on his house. The timer is fast enough to wait and try again for more scrolls.

Beard Combs drop from an Apple Tree what the heck?

While our Crystal Base is being crafted and Magnus is off adventuring doing who knows what -- we'll be harvesting our Apple Tree for beard combs! Luckily  it's a fast process and the drop rate is fairly decent.

 As soon as everything is completed  you'll be rewarded with 1900 XP.
