The Great Egg Hunt: Chapter 2 - Quest 1 Guide

Marigold is revealed

Hello adventurers, we are continuing from The Great Egg Hunt: Chapter 1 - Quest 4 Guide. Bryon is still on the loose but apparently a gold dragon named, Marigold, is hot on his trail. Not only did he manage to steal a dragon egg but Bryon also took hold of Marigold's hoard of treasure. Bryon's intentions are less of a Prince and more of a common Thief by the second.

Well, a dragon will always be a dragon. Gold is their precious.

A dragon egg may have been taken but Marigold is a little more interested in finding her stolen hoard of treasure. A dragon's priorities, eh? Well, I suppose if we go by old Dungeon and Dragons lore it's really her bed he took. Omigosh, that's evil Bryon! What the heck, stealing beds now?!

Marigold the Dragon

She likes those Spicy Lemon Bakes

Marigold is one of many dragons that resides in our realm. She is a temporary Hero that only becomes available after the first collection has been completed. You'll find her in the Special Heroes tab and it costs a Spicy Lemon Bake to hire her for two hours.

Quest Objectives in a Nutshell

Easy right? Good, because this quest is repeatable.

At last we come to the repeatable quests. According to the Zynga team the repeatable quests are the way to steadily move up your way through the leaderboard ladder. If you're not in the competition then don't worry about repeating it. Once it's completed you can move on to the next quest once it becomes available.

The WildFlower Patch

Located in the Market at the Resources tab

You'll find the new(and hopefully permanent) Wildflower Patch in the Resources tab located in the Marketplace. The field costs 250 gold. A second patch will cost you 30 crowns. Buy one field and find an empty spot on your kingdom to place it.  Once you do, it will take a few minutes to appear before you can harvest it. Once harvested it takes about 55 minutes to be ready for a new harvest. Remember we need to harvest the Wildflower field twice for it to count for the quest.

Spicy Lemon Bake

Flowers, lemons, and hot spices...dragon food is strange stuff

Pop over to the Bakery with these ingredients in hand. You'll need to make 3 Spicy Lemon Bakes so in total you w0ill need 9 Wildflowers from the Wildflower Patch, 3 Lemons from the Lemon tree, and 15 Fiery Pollen. These take 20 minutes each to bake. 

Tip: If you find yourself needing lemons then send Bluebelle the fairy to the Gateway of Luck. Every 30 minutes(or faster if using a Quickspell) she'll bring you a single lemon.

Mount Cinder

1 reinforced glove, 1 honey bandage to explore here

Send off Yvette or Marigold to Mount Cinder. It's a 3 hour long journey without Fast Foot spells. If you want to use FF spells to hasten the jaunt it will take 6  Fast Foot spells in total.

Not a bad haul if I say so myself

If you are participating in the leaderboard section then while your Spicy Lemon Bakes are cooking go the extra mile and start crafting the exploration materials you'll need ahead of time for future visits to Mount Cinder. You want to repeat this portion of the quest as many times and as fast as you can.

Marigold you took us on the wrong path!

Marigold realizes she's been following the smell of sulfur this whole time. For our efforts we will get 20 Shiny gems. 

What's Next?

Giovanni comes into the picture

In Chapter 2, quest 2 we will be helping Giovanni find encrypted codes to put into his newest invention - a code decrypter. We'll also be investigating Bryon's tracks and crafting a few Brass monkeys and brass gears.

Second Weekly Bonus Quest:

A whole lot of brass monkeys and exploring to do here

If you are in the leaderboard competition then start working on this quest. For those that are not, this is purely an optional bonus quest meant to be done over the week.

Byron's Tracks will now be available in the Marketplace in the very first(top) tab. You will need to send two heroes to the Gateway of Luck to acquire topaz. You will also need 2 brass ingots from Giovanni's house to  use with the topaz to create a magnifying glass to investigate Bryon's tracks. Meanwhile, start harvesting your honey beehive for a chance at acquiring candle wax. You will need 4 candle wax and 2 brass ingots to craft a brass money at the gadget shoppe,
