Summer Solstice: Chapter One - Quest 2 Guide

Quest 1:2 Giovanni’s Rockhenge II of IV Guide
Giovanni and Magnus at the Rockhenge
Greetings Queens and Kings!  We are picking up from the Summer Solstice: Chapter One - Quest 1 Guide.  The summer solstice is approaching and Magnus has decided we should build a Rockhenge to better commune with the sun. Giovanni is hands on helping out Magnus drawing plans already.

Don't remind us it's summer Gio. It's getting so hot already!
In the previous quest we found out that Giovanni has received a message from the Phoenix. He's pretty excited about it and asks for our help in building a Rockhenge.

The Quest Objectives:

Lots to do, don't pull out a Sun Spotter yet to avoid the timer on it
First we will craft the Copper Shades. When we are done crafting our Copper Shades we will start hunting down Sun maps which are needed to fully tend the Sun Spotters. Then finally we'll go on the hunt for the two Sun Dials at the Dragon Ruin.

The Copper Mine
The first purchase is about 250 gold. Any more and it starts to cost crowns.
We are  going to need Copper to craft the shades. Through-out the quests keep harvesting your Copper Mine to keep a small stock on hand.

Tip: If you have the Lion statue, Temple, or Scarecrow. then position them by your Copper Mine before you harvest it to get the most out of your mine.

Crafting Copper Shades
Opals, the #1 space taker in my inventory
Tip: See my entry called Summer Solstice FAQs for more information about Zynga's stance on the Workshop Boosts.

We are going to have to craft each Copper Shade at the Gadget shoppe for a total of three. Each Copper Shade takes 25 minutes to complete.

Fully Tending Sun Spotters:
Found at the Featured Tab in the Market Place for 250 Gold
Lots of Sun Maps to be found
To fully tend a Sun Spotter you will need to collect Sun Maps. We did this in the previous quest so you should have the 6 Sun Maps in your inventory. If not, back to the Gateway of Luck for you, or hopefully a fellow Alliance member can help you out.

Tip: The Sun Maps can be traded back and forth via Ship to Global Market or to your Alliance

You'll need 15 Sun Maps in total to fully tend the Sun Spotters for the quest or 9 more Sun Maps if you kept them from the previous quest.

Finding the Sun Dials:
1 opal ring, 1 plain glove, and 3 torches to explore this Place of Legend
Now let's send along our Heroes to the Dragon Ruin to find those Sun Dials. We are going to need two in total.

Tip: Sun Dials can be traded back and forth via Ship to Global Market or to your Alliance

The Cheap Mason, Temporary Hero

Before you send off your Hero to the Dragon Ruin don't forget to take the Cheap Mason, Temporary Hero for the trip as well.
He's a fun fellow. What a grin!
Cheap mason is available from the Marketplace in the “Special Heroes” tab. You can also pick one as you are sending off  your Heroes to the Places of Legend.

Which ever you choose - do not send off your Heroes without him. This is because the drop rate of the event items revolves around having the Cheap Mason in your party. That's not to say that the event items won't drop without him but it'll certainly be a lot tougher.

Tip: Don't forget to read up on the Summer Solstice FAQs for more helpful hints about the event.

Quest Complete:
Squee, Gio just said, Great Scott like that guy from the Back in the Future movie!
Once your quest objectives are completed you are rewarded with a Silver Henge. Great job!

Until the next guide. Happy Playing!
