Enter the Sands of Time - Chapter One: Quest One Guide

The Enter the Shifting Sands event is here! The entire quest-line is broken up into three consecutive chapters that unlock over time. If you are level 19 or higher, you will see the above pop-up. Click on the "To the rescue!" button to begin.
Quest Event Inro:

Rescuing Meryl:
Meryl's crystal prison can be found a bit underneath the Friendship Arena or if you have the Pirate Wreck Place of Legend open it is to the upper right from that point. Please note that you must have 20,000 gold and be Level 19 or up to be able to unlock her from the crystal prison.
Crafting Enchanted Shields:
In order to craft five shields you will need a total of 50 Logs.
In order to craft the Enchanted Shields you will need 5 Stardust. If you have none on hand there are two places I like to send Heroes to acquire it:
Fairy Falls (3 heroes, 3 hours)
Stardust: Send Tanya, she has an 80% chance
Well of Wishes (2 heroes, 8 hours)
Stardust: Send either, Buttercup - 65%, Greenleaf - 65%, Bayou - 60%, Iris - 50%, Clover - 50%, Bluebelle - 45%, Yvette - 40%, Scorch - 25%, Moonwhisker - 5%
Note: You can trade the individual parts to make the full crafted item such as stardust, wooden shields to friends/guild members. However, if you try to trade the Enchanted Shield itself then it won't count toward the quest.
Brass Gears:
Brass Ingots are harvested from Giovanni's home. You'll need a total of 16 brass ingots to craft all 8 of the brass gears.
Note 1: The brass gears won't count toward the quest if you try to trade them. They need to be crafted at the Gadget shoppe for it to count for your quest. Instead, trade the ingots if you want to help out friends/Guild members.
Note 2: Hold onto the brass gears. You'll need them in Chapter Two to craft toy dragons.
Quest Complete:
Once all quest requirements are fulfilled you are awarded with level appropriate experience. The second part of Chapter One is now available. Here's what we will be doing:
