The Great Egg Hunt: Chapter 1 - Quest 2 Guide

We are going to be doing a ton of searching in thsi quest event

Hello Royals, we're continuing from the first guide - The Great Egg Hunt: Chapter 1 - Quest 1 Guide and into the second queste of Chapter 1. There is tons to do and I will try my best to not make this as confusing as Zynga made this to be so let's get started.

Overal Objectives for Chapter 1, Quest 2

In this part of the quest we are going to be collecting candle wax from honey, purchasing a Marigold Clue from the Featured Market tab, and gathering enough materials to search the grove.

The Wax Casting Kits

Time to revisit the beehives again

In order to make the wax casting kits we will need candle wax and purple dye. I suppose all that candle wax finally has a purpose right? Start harvesting your beehives as you will need 15 candle wax in total. 

Next, harvest your chili peppers and blueberries to create purple dye at the Dye Maker. You will need 9 purple dyes in total. 

Once these materials are gathered it's time to visit the Jewler to put it all together. Each Wax Casting Kit takes 15 minutes to create. 

Meanwhile, we will start the process of investigating Marigold's Clue in order to "search the grove".

How to Create the Divining Rod

You'll need one torch to explore but several to keep finding the rods

Craft several torches in the Workshop. We need to send a Hero(All heroes have the same chance of drop rate) to the Ancient Watchtower several times over to find Divining Emblems to craft the Divining Rods. My results were every 3 tries I gained a Divining Emblem.

Note: Occasionally you will hit a drought. When this occurs then save your progress and then exit the game application. Proceed to clear your application cache then re-enter the game. Rinse repeat until you have 6 Divining Emblems.

Once you have 6 Divining Emblems hop over to your workshop with some logs. One Divining Rod needs 2 Divining Emblems plus 1 log in order to be crafted.  This is the reason why you need 6 so that you can have the required 3 Divining Rods to search Marigold's clue.

Marigold's Clue

Divining Rods, the bane of this quest

Before we can 'search the grove', however, we need to first get the materials together to do so. The first of which is the Divining Rod which I explained how to get above. What we are in reality aiming for is the final reward in Marigold's Clue which is the 'candied lemon peel'. Unfortunately, this is the only method to acquire it and we need two of them. 

Note: Remember we need to search Marigold's Clue twice to fulfill the quest requirement.

How to Search the Grove:

This is found in the first tab of the event center

After all that searching for the Divining Emblems we will be able to search the grove. Zynga is introducing 'Collections' in this quest. Basically more busy work for us to do. There are two collections in total - one collection during Week 1 of the event and a second(different) collection during Week 4. It's up to us to find all the pieces.

Author's Note: In the picture above I mistyped and put 'marigold clues'. It should be Collections. We are hunting for collections in Week 1 and then again in Week 4 of the quest. Sorry for that blunder!

Materials Needed to Search: 

Violetta's Advice: It can drop from the Dragon Ruins. Send any hero to this place of legend.

Dragon Rations: Craft this in the Trail Kitchen from carrots, cheese, and dried blueberries.

Candied Lemon Peel x2: This can drop from Marigold's Clue.

Note: Dragon Rations are made in the kitchen. The Dried blueberries drop from blueberry fields. The drop rate is so-so but not too terrible.

The grove itself with possible reward outcomes

When you have all the materials, you can 'tap'(or 'click' if you're on the web) on the grove of tress. The rewards vary and there is no special technique or method to gain the bonus jackpot. The prizes are randomly generated. If you happen to find all of the collection, you can still proceed to search the grove for a chance to get more prizes or keep trying for that jackpot bonus.

Shiny gems, shiny so sparkly, shine!

Once we've made our wax kits, investigated Marigold's clue twice, and searched the grove at least once we will be presented with 25 shiny gems.

Note: The above picture is Quest 3 in Chapter 1. Lots of exploring, lots and lots and more to come.

Also, remember I mentioned in the first guide to start collecting mint chocolate chips from the mint field? Keep doing so until you have 15 mint chocolate chips. Keep holding onto them until after you have reached Quest 4 so any crafting you do will count toward the quest requirement.
